Getting Started with the Saluki Volunteer Portal

If you are a student who would like to volunteer, check out the volunteer portal. Community service and service-learning are great ways to get the most out of your Saluki experience. You can make new friends, build skills, and have fun while serving others. Students can explore local volunteer needs on the Saluki Connect. Be sure to use the filter "Earn" and select Service Hours to see how to earn service hours quickly.

Saluki Volunteer Expectations

1. Students can explore local volunteer needs on the Saluki Connect. (Use your SIU email and password to log in.)

2. Contact your volunteer site to confirm your placement.

3. Log hours on the service hour verification form, get the appropriate signatures, and turn them into the CSLV office in room 495 of the student service building.

4. When at your volunteer site be appropriate in word, action, and dress. You are representing SIU.

5. Be flexible at your volunteer site and help out where you can.

6. Ask for help when in doubt.

7. Strive to exceed expectations.

8. Have fun!
